MENBAH! is a one-man band except when it isn't. The one man in question is Christopher, who has recorded under that magical, inscrutable sobriquet for four years. In 2006, others came on board, some of whom have moved along, and it may be some time before we can say with any certainty exactly how many members are in the band. Do read on.

Christopher Short

Christopher Short is an Indiana transplant who has been writing songs since 1989, playing guitar since 1994, self-producing since 2003 and singing since he could talk. He is a veteran of solo acoustic shows, and his one-off electric rock band Captain Trips opened for the Ataris in 1996, a bizarre and inconsequential fact.

In Feb. 2006, Christopher won the first annual Budweiser/Nuvo Newsweekly Singer-Songwriter Contest in Indianapolis. He has twice completed the February Album Writing Month challenge, writing and recording 14 songs in 28 days, and is currently trying for a three-peat.

Christopher's songwriting influences include the Beatles, Green Day, the Kinks, They Might Be Giants, the Violent Femmes, Ween, Weezer... and almost everyone else he's ever heard. He plays an array of modified cheap guitars -- a Mexican Strat, an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. and an Oscar Schmidt semi-hollow -- through a 30-watt Vox Valvetronix combo amp.

Bob MacConnell

A Colorado native and veteran of the Springs rock scene, Bob MacConnell (lead guitar) has played in original and cover bands, once winning the Best Rock of the Rockies competition in Denver.

Bob's guitar influences are Tommy Bolin, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan and many others. He rocks hard and loves Colorado.
